Leaving space in the paintings suggests and gives room for the viewers’ imagination as imagination is precious and unlimited to different individuals.
Each brush stroke shall be done with enough energy and determination therefore going over and over again on a brush stroke loses the initial power of the stroke.
I do ink and watercolor brush painting on rice papers. Using rice papers to paint requires good control of brush stroke and these papers diffuse the layers of colors and energy which are delightful to look at.
