Doug Billings was born in Landstul, Germany as an Air Force Brat. He lived in Europe till the age of 10, when the family moved to Wisconsin. Doug received a BFA degree from Mankato State University, Minnesota. He was accepted into the Printmaking Graduate Program by David Bernard and received a MFA degree in Printmaking from Wichita State University.
His exhibition background includes participating in over 20 National & International Juried Exhibitions; including the Print Club International, Philadelphia, PA; the Silvermine National Print Exhibition, New Canaan, CT; the National Works on Paper Exhibition, Somers, NY; the 2005 Boston Printmakers Print Biennial, in 2007, the Hollar Society Gallery Invitational, Prague, Czechosolvakia and the Old Print Shop Gallery, NY, NY.
Doug is a member of the Society of American Graphic Artists (SAGA) New York, NY; the American Color Print Society, Princeton, NJ; the Boston Printmakers, Boston, MA; The Print Center, Philadelphia, PA; and The American Print Alliance, Peachtree, GA. Recently, Doug won the Otto Lambert Grever Award for Lithography at the 64th National American Color Print Society exhibition in Philadelphia, was published in the 2008 Vol. 31 Journal of the Print World, and completed a commission by the Coutts Memorial Museum of Art in El Dorado for their 2008 Gift Print.
